Join local guide Kiki for one of Bali’s most iconic experiences: a sunrise volcano hike! Start in the dark and summit by sunrise to marvel at the sun rising over the clouds.
Kiki has been hiking Mount Batur since she was a little kid, and we use one of the less popular trails, offering a bit more peace and connection to nature and culture.

This hike can be combined with our ‘Mount Batur Sunrise & Coffee Adventure’ for a full day adventure in Kintamani
This hike requires a moderate fitness level. Reaching the summit usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours and descent takes about 45 mins to an hour. The way up will happen in the dark with headlamps.
Wear closed running shoes as you’ll be hiking on volcanic sand, which is fine and can be slippery.
Bring a top layer for the cool morning while climbing and waiting for the sunrise in Kintamani.
Depending on where you are starting from, morning tour pickup time is around 2-3 AM to make it in time for sunrise, and the total expected tour time is about 4 hours with transfers.
