✈️ Trusted Travel Resources
The booking platforms, travel tools and apps I actually use — plus a few things I've learned from travelling to 40+ countries.

Where to Book Travel
Booking Tours & Tickets
I use Klook, GetYourGuide & Viator to find and book tours, activities and tickets, comparing options based on my interests, budget & availability.
Booking Accommodations
If I can’t book directly with the hotel (which is the best case for locally-owned hotels and rentals), I use Booking.com to compare and book accommodations.
Group Trips
Want to travel solo but not alone? Or keen to join a hosted trip that takes care of all logistics so you can just enjoy the ride? Group trips are great for this!
Book Flights
I use Google Flights to compare routes and prices, then book directly with the airline for maximum recourse in case issues arise. When direct booking is not possible, I use Trip.com.
Book Trains, Buses & Taxis
One of my most-used resources in Asia is 12Go. Use the app to find and book trains, buses, ferries, minivans and shared taxis.

Travel Essentials
eSims for Data
I use Airalo to have data as soon as I land — incredibly useful for maps, rideshares, messages and figuring out where the heck I'm going.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is one thing I don't travel without. I use SafetyWing for global coverage and have had a good experience. For Canadians, I am also affiliated with Allianz Canada. Contact me for a quote!
Proton VPN
I use Proton VPN while travelling for extra privacy and to access websites or services that may not be available in my destination. I also use their password safe to ensure I can always access my accounts from anywhere.
Travel Banking
One of my favourite travel tools! I use Wise to hold, convert and transfer currencies while avoiding many of the fees associated with traditional banking and currency exchange.
Cameras
For capturing photos and videos on the go, I use an iPhone 7 Pro Max (I also liked my Google Pixel and Samsung for this; honestly, all the new Pro phones have nice cameras!), and an Insta360 for fun drone-like shots.

My promise to you
My recommendations are based on my own experiences and preferences, along with advice from people I know and trust.
Some of the companies mentioned on this page have affiliate programs, which means I may receive a commission when you use my links. That never determines whether I recommend something.
These partnerships help support Travelynne and allow me to keep investing in honest, useful travel content that's free for you to access.
I do my best to recommend companies and tools I've had good experiences with, while being transparent about their limitations. Travel is unpredictable, businesses change, and your experience won't necessarily be identical to mine.
But I'll always do my best to keep it real and only recommend things I'd be comfortable using myself.
