I train hard in the gym every day, and when it’s time to treat myself, gelato is my go-to. Lucky for me (and now, lucky for you), Seminyak is packed with ice cream and gelato shops that go way beyond your average scoop.

From classics to wild flavors, I set out to try seven of the most talked-about gelato spots in the area. Some blew me away, others had pluses and minuses — but these five made the list for a reason. They stood out primarily for the quality of flavor, but service and environment were also considered. So, if you’re in Seminyak, Bali, and looking for the perfect sweet treat to cool down, save yourself the guesswork and check out my honest reviews below.

Let’s dig into the five best gelato spots in Seminyak, Bali! Heads up — I saved the best for last.

Gusto Gelato & Caffe

Gusto Gelato in Kerobokan offers a large variety of flavors that truly make it stand out. You’re getting great value here, with generous portions packed into a small cup. What’s even better is that the gelato is loaded with toppings mixed right into the base, not just sprinkled on top. Some of the more unique flavors include Chocolate Chili, Lemongrass, and Ginger – perfect for those wanting a twist on the usual.

It’s super easy to access, thanks to a traffic coordinator right outside. The staff greets you warmly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The space is pretty chill, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There’s also ample scooter parking at the back, so you won’t be circling the block for a spot. When I went, the place was fairly quiet, with just a few families enjoying their gelato.

🍦 What I Got

As a regular at Gusto, I stuck with two of my go-to flavors: Chocolate Macaroon and Straciatella. They never disappoint. Both were rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. I’d give it a solid 10/10 for taste.

Gusto Gelato & Caffe is worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving something sweet. It’s got the perfect balance of great flavors, a welcoming atmosphere, and some solid value for the price.

Gaya Gelato

Gaya Gelato takes gelato to another level with its high-end, artisanal craftsmanship. Every scoop is ultra-creamy, rich, and thoughtfully made. Their selection includes refined flavors like Panna Cotta, Lime Mint, and Matcha Latte with Black Croccante, offering a unique twist on classic favorites. There were a few flavors with names that I didn't even recognize, a sure sign of luxury. Even with the higher-end quality, the pricing is still fairly standard.

The ambience here is top-tier, making it one of the best date spots for a gelato outing. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide a beautiful street view, and the air conditioning provided a cool, comfortable environment. The space is well-designed, featuring several bar stools and four tables with cushioned chairs—I love a cozy spot to enjoy my  gelato.  Whether you’re stopping in for a solo treat or a lil date, Gaya Gelato delivers both style and substance.

🍦 What I Got

I went with Vaniglia and Matcha Latte with Black Sesame Croccante. The vanilla was smooth and classic, while the matcha latte was an absolute standout—creamy, earthy, and just the right crunch. A perfect combo.

Gelato Republic

Gelato Republic delivers rich, creamy gelato with a beautiful presentation, making every scoop feel like a treat. I really enjoyed the fact that they will serve two flavors in a small cup—not many places offer this. Their flavor lineup is both fun and diverse, featuring options like Blood Orange, Unicorn, and Rum Raisin. Whether you’re grabbing a quick dessert or taking some home in one of their insulated to-go containers, this spot doesn’t disappoint.

The shop is located right next to Bintang Supermarket, making it a convenient stop while out and about. The space is clean, brightly lit, and decorated with colorful wall art that adds to the fun atmosphere. With seating inside and out, there’s enough space to enjoy your gelato comfortably. Friendly staff and a welcoming vibe make this a standout spot for a quality scoop.

🍦 What I Got

I chose Rubitobler and Crème Brûlée, and both were exceptional. The rubitobler had a smooth, nutty richness, while the crème brûlée delivered that perfect caramelized sweetness. These are definitely flavors worth returning to.

Grande Gelato may be small, but it delivers big on flavor and service. This walk-up gelato bar offers a creamy, delicious selection of 36 flavors, with standout options like Twix, Mango Avocado Cheesecake, and Kiwi Sorbet. The gelato itself is rich and smooth, some of the best I’ve tried.

Located on a busy street in Seminyak, the spot is impossible to miss thanks to its fun neon signs and a friendly greeter welcoming customers from the sidewalk. While seating is minimal—just four wooden bar stools along the side—it adds to the charm, creating a casual, street-side experience. Their 24-flavor selection is fantastic, with unique options like Bamboo Charcoal Vanilla Bean, Dragon Fruit Cinnamon, and Gingerbread. The black gelato, in particular, is a standout—smooth and crunchy at the same time, creating a satisfying texture that’s hard to beat.

Enjoy Your Cool Treats in Bali

Bali’s heat and humidity practically demand a daily gelato break — and thankfully, Seminyak delivers. From traditional Italian-style scoops to tropical fusion flavors you’ve probably never tried before, there’s no shortage of icy goodness on the island.

Whether you’re craving a rich, velvety classic or something more adventurous (black bamboo vanilla, anyone?), you’ll find a shop that hits the spot. After taste-testing seven top contenders, my personal favorite is Gelato Secrets — with Grande Gelato and Gelato Republic not far behind.

If you’re as obsessed as I am, keep an eye out for spots that offer gelato-making experiences or behind-the-scenes tours — perfect for curious travelers (and sweet tooths) who want to learn more.

No matter which one you try, just promise me one thing: you’ll enjoy every single bite. 🍦
